Putin: Russian economy to show great result of 3% GDP growth 2023
BISHKEK, Oct 13 (PRIME) -- The expected gross domestic product (GDP) growth of 3% this year is great for the Russian economy, President Vladimir Putin said on Friday during a session of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS.
“We would obviously like it to be even better, but in general, our situation is stable. Our GDP growth will be close to almost 3% this year. It is a great result for the Russian economy,” he said.
The oil and gas sector accounts for only 3% of the GDP growth, while the industrial sector accounts for 45%, he said.
“I mean that we bought many things abroad previously, and we began production of many things in Russia, not all of them, but nothing could be made in one swoop. We are creating new engineering centers, and the work is being done in a wide range of goods,” he said.
Russia’s grain harvest will amount to 134–154 million tonnes this year, which means that the export potential is also high. Grain exports would reach at least 50–60 million tonnes. There is demand for grain within the CIS, and Russia will satisfy it, Putin said.
